Static gas collision chamber

In the collision chamber (7) filled with static gas a vapour pressure is maintained of about 2 x 10^-5torr at room temperature. (8) is the inlet for the collision gas. In the collision chamber an electrode system is placed for the analysis, in order to distinguish between the different charged particles.

We have constructed an iodine gas oven for collisions betwee alkali atoms and iodine atoms
